It has been a long time since I last had crabs at Mellben Ang Mo Kio. We decided to try the new Toa Payoh Lor 8 outlet this time.
Over the past one year, I have tried many salted egg yolk crabs from various places - Labrador Seafood at Port Road, BK Forture at Bukit Timah , Big Eater at Upper Changi and Master Crab at Sunshine Place. Mellben’s version is different from the rest. It is creamy, buttery and sprinkled with crispy oat. This reminds me of the Baked Crab with white cream sauce from Canton Wok. I still prefer it not being too creamy and buttery.

The merit point is on the fresh of the crab. It is SOLID! Look at the comb texture of the crab claw fresh below. Can you tell how solid it is? I gave it 7/10 due to the solid fresh.
It costs $12 and is so-so only.
